AKE technologies GmbH offers different concepts for the manufacture of these products. Projects with different degrees of automation are currently in the implementation phase at the headquarters in Passau.
Final commissioning steps for a automated production line
A partially automated production line for battery management systems is currently in the decisive commissioning phase. Complex components for e-vehicles are manufactured on the more than 70-meter-long assembly test system by 24 integrated robots in cooperation with several workers. A central advantage of this concept for our customers: through the integration of an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) system, a linkage of the production strings and a connection to the logistics at the customer's site is ensured.
Assembly phase - manual workpiece carrier line currently under construction
A workpiece carrier line for the manual production of BMCes is currently being built up in-house. This U-shape concept is a flexible solution in that the workforce is adapted to the respective requirements and the current number of items. In addition, several variants can be integrated into the system thanks to the setup cart principle. This intelligent concept offers a well-known automotive supplier with a focus on the e-mobility sector clear advantages in terms of flexibility and costs.
AKE engineers work on a highly automated assembly test system
In addition to the projects mentioned above, our team is implementing a highly automated assembly test system for BMS. The compact design on a small footprint with a highly flexible transport system promises low cycle times and a high degree of adaptability of the system. Together with our customers, we are able to meet the high requirements that the automated production of highly sensitive electrical components places on mechanical engineering companies and suppliers.
Implementation challenges
Regardless of the type of system and the assembly concept, the development of assembly test lines for battery management systems presents special challenges. In addition to the ESD (Electro Static Discharge) design of the system, high demands on technical cleanliness must be met. In order to relieve our customers with regard to the fluctuating quantity scenarios, AKE technologies also offers adaptable concepts with regard to cycle time and worker share.
Even during the planning phase, the systems are designed in a way that allows to react quickly to component changes even during assembly and commissioning.
